Tigers and Tanks and Bears, Oh my.

So today after another large breakfast, with Sandra behind the wheel we headed west to drop myself and the boys at the Bovington Tank Museum whilst the girls headed off to Athelhampton in search of Devonshire teas.

The boys and I had a fantastic time looking at just some of the 300+ armoured vehicles that the museum has in its collection with the museum itself on an active army base for the armoured corps.

The girls went to Athelhampton and enjoyed looking around the house and grounds despite the typical "English" weather and the Devonshire teas not being available until after 2.30pm.

Having reunited my crew we headed off to Maiden Castle. Once at the top we discovered that was really quite windy, quite wet and quite cold. The entourage all managed to get muddy, Tony slipping over and Beth choosing to roll in sheep dung.

Having found our very pleasant B&B we headed out to find some pub food eventually locating the Old Poppe Pub. We ordered a simple fish and chips and enjoyed a local beer before returning for the night.

Quote of the Day.
"It tells me what the buttons do but not what to do with the buttons", Tony, trying to program the cars air conditioning.

"Now take a half right", Charlotte (the cars GPS voice) whilst giving Sandra directions.

A suitable new ride to deal with traffic.

Athelhampton.

Keeping the most important member of the team, me, warm on Maiden Castle.

The Pub.
The Food.
The refreshment.

    1. Junior staff are excited about today, for today is fossil hunting day

And that staff member is now relegated as the emergency chauffeur as his manual driving skills are very very rusty
